Auchan Magyarország sales director Attila Nagy said the programme, which enjoys the backing of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), aimed to put more products from small- and medium-sized suppliers on the retailer’s shelves.

The goal is to boost orders from local suppliers by a factor of 6-8 from around HUF 300 million per store at present, he added.

Around half of the products stocked at Auchan stores in Hungary are food, and 86% of those are produced in Hungary, he said.

Auchan had net sales revenue of HUF 366.3 billion in 2024.
