The working-day adjusted index remained unchanged from the non-adjusted figure. However, on a monthly basis, seasonally and working-day adjusted data showed that industrial output edged up 0.8% compared to December 2024.

The decline in production volume was recorded across most manufacturing subsectors, with the largest contractions observed in the transport equipment, electrical equipment, and food, beverage, and tobacco manufacturing industries. Meanwhile, the manufacture of computer, electronic, and optical products was one of the few areas that registered growth.

Despite the annual decline, industrial output showed a slight recovery from the previous month, with production levels rising 0.8% compared to December. The latest figures highlight ongoing challenges in Hungary’s manufacturing sector, which has been affected by weaker external demand and shifts in global supply chains.
