More than 100 farmers have volunteered their land for water retention purposes through an online platform launched in late February by the National Water Directorate General, making participation in water collection efforts easier.

The initiative aims to improve water retention nationwide, benefiting both agriculture and local climates.

Recent droughts have highlighted the need for such measures, leading to an accelerated filling of state water reservoirs, which now hold 314 million cubic meters of water, up from 270 million in January.
