The Budapest Stock Exchange’s blue-chip BUX index opened Friday trade up 0.15% at 23,401.30.
BSE blue-chips stood as follows at Friday’s opening bell:
OTP Bank was up 0.50% at HUF 6,270;
Oil and gas company MOL was up 0.04% at HUF 23,100;
Drug company Richter was up 0.01% at HUF 36,775;
Magyar Telekom was down 0.18% at HUF 541.
On Thursday, the BUX closed down 1.10% to 23,366.92 on a turnover of HUF 14.94billion.
Zsolt Balásy of Concorde Securities predicted that the value of shares traded at the Budapest Stock Exchange would rebound somewhat from the losses they have sustained over the past two sessions at the beginning of Friday trade, noting that global market-sentiment has improved from negative to directionless.
Zoltán Varga of QUAESTOR Zrt commented that OTP Bank, which closed Thursday trade at HUF 6,239, could test the HUF 6,400-mark on Friday. Varga noted that MOL, which closed Thursday trade down 1.32% to HUF 23,090, has continued to receive weak-side support at the HUF 23,000 plateau. The QUAESTOR Zrt analyst added that a rise in government-bond yields could exert pressure on Magyar Telekom’s share value.
