Amid the challenging economic environment, Hungary received more foreign investments in the first six months this year than in the full year 2022, when investments rose to a record high, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at the ceremony. Thus, there is a good chance that investments in 2023 will reach double their level of last year, he added.

With the completion of an 8,000 sqm automated high-bay warehouse and a loading dock, Unilever completed the second phase of the HUF 23 bln investment financed fully from internal funds, the company said.

Annual production capacity increased to 500 million tonnes from 300 million tonnes as a result of the investment. The site has become one of the group's most efficient and modern plants, with sufficient area for further capacity expansion or adding new units. In the first phase, completed around 18 months ago, they built an 11,400 sqm packaging unit and installed two production lines.

Unilever Magyarország had net sales revenue of HUF 122.5 bln in 2022, public records show.
