The Budapest Stock Exchange BUX index closed Wednesday trade up 0.7% to 21,504, rising with blue-chip indices at bourses throughout Europe ahead of Thursday’s eurozone debt summit in Brussels.

The BUX gained 150 points on a composite exchange turnover of HUF 18.79 billion, fluctuating in a 1.1% range between an intraday high of 21,622 at 9:10 am and a low of 21,393 at 11:15 am.

The four blue chip shares stood as follows at Wednesday’s closing bell:

OTP Bank soared 3.2% to HUF 5,420 on a turnover of HUF 13.43 billion.

Magyar Telekom advanced 1.1% to HUF 544 on a turnover of HUF 961 million.

Drugmaker Richter gained 0.5% to HUF 37,095 on a light turnover of HUF 217 million.

Oil and gas company MOL fell 1.7% to HUF 20,000 on a turnover of HUF 3.7 billion.
