A Hungarian team led by the sous chef of Budapest's Michelin-starred Stand Restaurant has come in third place at the Bocuse d'Or 2023 international gastronomy contest final in Lyon, according to a report by news agency MTI.

Sous Chef Bence Dálnoki was joined by commis Patrik Nyikos and coached by Tamás Széll, who won the 2016 Bocuse d'Or Europe.

The team took second place at the Bocuse d'Or Europe, the continental qualifier for the final, hosted in Budapest, in March.

Monkfish was the platter theme at the final in Lyon. The top prize went to a team from Denmark.
