Nearly 70% of Hungarians Shop Online

Retail

Some 69% of Hungarians regularly buy and pay online, but a fifth of online customers still do not check the authenticity of payment platforms, the results of a representative survey by OTP Mobil revealed this week, according to profitline.hu.

The survey showed that almost everyone is aware of the risks of shopping and paying online. Many people act consciously when using a webshop: four-fifths of online customers try to make sure in at least one way that the website they are visiting is not dangerous.

Some people check whether the trader has customer service, complaints handling, or published general terms and conditions, while others check the contact details (phone number, email address).

The research was carried out on behalf of OTP Mobil by the Pulse Research System between March 5 and 12, in which 1,032 shoppers participated.
