How do HR professionals embrace the the growing role of artificial intelligence, the need to balance business profitability with employee wage demands in a high inflation and cost of living crisis, or the challenges of working with multiple generations in the same workplace and accommodating their varied and various needs and expectations. Perhaps most complex of all, how do you prepare for the future of work when all we know is that many, perhaps most, of the roles the workforce will be asked to perform do not yet exist. 

These are the issues on the front line of HR that we examine through interviews and in-depth reporting in this, the third annual edition of our dedicated publication looking at the Top 50 HR executives in Hungary. This year, our focus is very much on the human resources/people and culture/people and organization (please delete as necessary) director roles in the companies themselves. In adition to bespoke editorial content, we include detailed biographies of many of the leading personalities in the profession, and a useful listing of company contacts.

Human resources has come a long way in a relatively short period of time. The top positions now carry titles like chief people officer or chief human resources officer. In other words, those at the top are firmly ensconced in the C-suite and are involved in strategic decision-making at all levels of the business. And what could be more strategic than working out what the jobs of the future will look like, what skills will be required to do them, and how existing staff are upskilled or reskilled to take them on? The role of HR is, therefore, arguably more critical than it has ever been.
