Novák said she and the heads of the families portfolios in the other V4 countries – Jana Malacova of the Czech Republic, Poland's Marlena Malag, and Milan Krajniak from Slovakia – issued a joint declaration of their commitment to family values at a videoconference on Thursday.
"A kind of cooperation that places families in the focus has been established in the heart of Europe. All of us seek answers to our demographic challenges not in migration but in the support of families," Novák said.
The sides agreed to confer on policy measures affecting families and launch joint research, she added.
She said it was the goal of the V4 countries to ensure young people can have as many children as they want without being restricted by material concerns.
"We observe each other's good practices in the V4," she added, noting Hungarian lawmakers' decision to introduce a personal income tax exemption for citizens under 25 from 2022, a measure earlier rolled out in Poland.
