Szijjártó is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.
His ministry said he met with his counterparts from Egypt, Morocco, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, and Uzbekistan on the sidelines of the UNGA on Tuesday.
Szijjártó said he would press for support in Brussels for Egypt and Morocco to crack down further on illegal migration. He also acknowledged the "key importance" of Uzbekistan for the stability of the Central Asia region as well as the Philippines' weight in Southeast Asia, and said an economic agreement had been signed with Sierra Leone.
