Szijjártó will give a presentation on Hungary's economic policy and the dangers of the global minimum corporate tax rate at a business meeting organized by the conservative advocacy group Americans for Tax Reform.
Hungary didn't back the approval of a European Union directive on the adoption of the 15% global minimum corporate tax in June. MEPs upbraided Hungary for "blocking" the rollout of the minimum corporate tax rate in a resolution, and the United States terminated its double taxation avoidance agreement with Hungary, a move Szijjártó said earlier was "clearly" a response to Hungary's opposition to the minimum tax rate.
On Wednesday, Szijjártó said talks with the Republican leaders in Washington will touch on the situation of the global economy, Hungarian-American economic cooperation, and tax policy issues.
