The line was inaugurated by Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar. The 109 km Pragersko-Hodos line is used to bring freight from Sloveniaʼs Koper port to Eastern Europe.
About 20% of the freight from the port has ties to Hungary, Szijjártó said. Hungarian companies ship or receive 170,000 containers through the port every year, he added.
About €23 mln of the cost of the project came from the European Unionʼs Cohesion Fund.
