Hungary and Poland are linked by a number of security policy, economic and energy interests, Szijjártó said after the meeting. He noted that bilateral trade between the countries reached a record last year and that Hungaryʼs Eximbank had opened a €492 million line of credit to support business cooperation between companies in the two countries.
He said Hungarian oil and gas company MOLʼs role in Polandʼs energy market could cement cooperation between the two countries.
Waszczykowski also urged the strengthening of trade, economic and infrastructural ties between the two countries. Bilateral trade stands at €8 billion, he added.
Waszczykowski is in Hungary to prepare for an official visit by Polandʼs prime minister next week.
