Speaking at a press conference at the headquarters of Eximbank, Szijjártó said large international companies account for 85% of Hungaryʼs exports. The government wants to increase the number of Hungarian-owned SME exporters from the current 3,000 to 12,000 by 2018, he added.
Szijjártó said the majority of Hungarian SMEs do not possess the financial resources, expertise and flexibility required to compete on foreign markets.
Boosting exports by Hungarian SMEs could also create new jobs in Hungary, he added.
