"We say goodbye to the woman, the mother, the queen, the European head of state," she wrote on Facebook.
"I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and I extend my sincere condolences to the members of the Royal Family. It is with sadness and respect that we bid farewell to one of the most influential figures in 20th century British and European history," she added.
Novák also wrote that "Hungarians have learned much in standing up for nation and family" from the queen.
"We will cherish Her Majesty’s memory in our hearts," she concluded.
Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom from 1952 until her death on Thursday. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days is the longest of any British monarch and the second-longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country.
