Addressing the issue of migration, Orbán argued the only solution to managing migration in the European Union is giving the right to deal with the issue back to member states. He warned of the threat of a new migration crisis because of events in Afghanistan.
Speaking about EU enlargement, Orbán called Serbia a "key country" whose EU accession is "indispensable" from a geopolitical and security aspect.
"The European Union needs Serbia's EU membership more than Serbia does," he added.
He said a basic condition for keeping the EU together is economic success.
"Without that, there is no political foundation for the preservation of common values either," he added.
Orbán was joined at the panel discussion by his counterparts from Slovenia, Croatia, Czechia, Slovakia, Greece and Serbia, as well as by European Council President Charles Michel and European Parliament President David Sassoli.
