Orbán said that the premiers of the V4 countries agreed Eastern Europe has the biggest economic growth potential within the European Union and believe their weight will increase in the future, business site portfolio.hu reported.
Orbán also addressed Hungary’s energy policy and the reduction of energy tariffs for households, saying the key question in terms of the EU’s future energy policy is whether the bloc can provide cheap energy to its economy in need of re-industrialization: “We cannot wait for the EU to find solutions for this, therefore we have to make a move now,” said the PM. “If we were to wait for the EU to take steps I’d be in retirement by the time we get access to cheap energy.”
“Not every country can afford to lower energy prices via state regulation, but we have the right to do so,” he added, referring to the ongoing government-mandated reduction of household utility prices.
