Hungary Expects Progress From EU on Erasmus+ Matter

EU

Hungary expects to progress from the European Commission on the matter of its participation in the Erasmus+ program for education, training, youth and sport, state secretary for higher education Balázs Hankó said in Brussels on Monday, after a meeting of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Hungary's government is still waiting for a response from Brussels on a package of legislation it sent almost six months earlier drafted with the aim of complying with recommendations to address concerns over alleged conflicts of interest among the membership of boards of trustees of foundation universities, Hankó said.

Erasmus+ scholarship funding for Hungary has been suspended because of those concerns.
