Representatives from the Poultry Products Council, the Poultry and Egg Farmers Association, the FruitVeB produce growers association, the Dairy Products Council, the Meat Products Council, the Seed Association and the Sugar Products Council participated in the meeting.
The cooperation that has started with the sector associations can prevent overpricing and speculation while boosting transparency and competition, the Economic Development Ministry said.
Nagy noted that work is underway to establish an online price monitoring platform and a consumer protection database that will help households find the lowest prices.
