This corresponds to 9.98% of eligible voters, which is closer to the participation rate measured during the last general election two years ago than the usual turnout for EP or municipal elections in Hungary.
In the 2022 GE, the 9 a.m. participation rate stood at 10.31%. The final turnout came to 70.21% that year.
In the 2019 EP election, the 9 a.m. participation rate was just 7.78%.
High turnout this year was expected beforehand, as Hungary never held municipal and EP elections on the same day before.
