The value of public procurements in Hungary climbed 25% to HUF 1.631 trillion in H1 2024 year-on-year, a report published by the Public Procurement Authority shows.
The number of public procurement procedures edged up 1% to 3,786 during the period.
Construction contracts accounted for 28% of the value of public procurements and orders of goods for 29%. Services made up 43% of the total.
The value of construction contracts reached HUF 459.6 bln, up 12% from the base period.
Microbusinesses and SMEs won 51% of contracts in terms of value and 79% in terms of numbers, the report shows.
The share of single-bid contracts was 12% for contracts with values under the threshold for inclusion in the EU’s tender system and 28% for contracts with values over the threshold. The share of single-bid contracts, in value terms, stood at 6% for those under the EU tender system inclusion threshold and 21% for those over the threshold.
There were just 110 negotiated procedures called during the period.
