The data show 5,322 people were injured in road accidents in Q1, including 1,339 who suffered serious injuries. The number of fatalities reached 129.
ust 162 accidents involving injury took place on Hungarian motorways. There were ten fatalities in the accidents. The M5, between the capital and the border with Serbia, had the highest rate of accidents per hundred kilometers of motorway: 21.7. The lowest rate – 4 accidents per hundred kilometers – was on the M6, which connects Budapest with Pécs, in the southwest.
