It was the lowest jobless rate since comparable data began in 2004, as the number of unemployed persons declined by 9.800 to 142.200, while the number of employed rose by 5.700 to 795.300.
Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate edged down to 55.7% from 55.9% a year ago, and the employment rate increased to 47.3% from 46.8%.
Separate data from the Skopje-based statistics agency showed that North Macedonia's industrial production edged up 0.7% year-on-year in January, after decreasing by an annual 4.9% in December.
Industrial production rose the most on an annual comparison basis in the mining and quarrying segment – by 36.5%.
