It was the highest reading since September of 2008, mainly pushed up by prices of transport (19.4%), food & non-alcoholic beverages (9.6%) and housing & utilities (7.3%).
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices rose 1.0% in February, after picking up 1.5% the previous month.
