The number of road accident fatalities per million inhabitants stood at 45 in Slovakia and 48 in Czechia. The number was 66 in Poland and 85 – the highest rate in the EU – in Romania.
Sweden had the lowest rate of road fatalities: 20 per million inhabitants.
