It was the highest inflation rate since July, mainly due to a sharp rebound in prices for housing (5.5% vs -6.9% in September) and a slight increase for hotels, cafes & restaurants (7.4% vs 7.2%).

Meanwhile, prices slowed for food & non-alcoholic beverages (6.7% vs 9.7%), alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5% vs 5.8%), clothing & footwear (7.7% vs 9.7%), household goods (5.3% vs 7%), health (7% vs 10.1%), communication (1.4% vs 3.5%), recreation & entertainment (6.1% vs 9.6%) and miscellaneous goods & services (6.1% vs 6.6%).

At the same time, prices further slipped for transport (-2.4% vs -1.1%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices tumbled 0.4% in October after showing no growth in the previous month.
