Hungarian customers paid some 40% of intercompany invoices after the deadline in the past 12 months. Another 55% of Hungarian companies paid their suppliers on time in the past year, while this ratio was 62% previously.
The respondents in the construction industry justified frequent late payments in the sector with temporary liquidity problems, and in the machinery industry, problematic cases caused by the bankruptcy of customers.
