Retail sales volume in the Czech Republic, including the automobile sector, decreased an unadjusted 3.3% year-on-year in March, after falling 4.7% in February, the Central Statistical Office said Thursday. The annual fall in sales was driven both by lower sales in the automobile industry and retail trade alone. Sales and repair of motor vehicles dropped 8.9% annually, while sales of automotive fuel dropped 4%. On a working-day adjusted basis, retail sales edged down 0.1% yr/yr during the month. On a monthly basis, trade in the retail sector increased a seasonally adjusted 1.4% in March, the Prague-based agency said.
