Prices of food, beverages and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 17.1%, prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 15.5% and transport costs went up 5.8%.
In addition, prices for clothing & footwear went up 11.3%, prices for furniture & household equipment added 14.2%, cost for health gained 6.1% and prices for restaurant & hotels grew 8.5%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.2% in February, following a flat reading in the prior month. Measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased by 11.7% on average in
February compared to the same month last year, after rising by 12.5% in January. On a monthly basis, HICP added 0.3% in February.
