It was the highest inflation rate since May, as prices rebounded for transport (3.3% vs -3.7% in July), while increased at a faster pace for communication (3.5% vs 2.8%), and recreation & culture (7.7% vs 7.5%).
Meanwhile, prices slowed for food & non-alcoholic beverages (11% vs 12.6%), clothing & footwear (9.9% vs 11.3%), housing & utilities (6.2% vs 6.4%), furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance (7.5% vs 9.3%), health (6.6% vs 7.1%), restaurants & hotels (14.2% vs 14.6%), and miscellaneous goods & services (9.4% vs 10%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5% in August, accelerating from 0.2% rise in the previous month.
