Compared to April 2021, a price rise of 15.6% was recorded for food items, within which 38% for margarine, 29.5% for both bread and poultry meat, 28.9% for cheese, 26.7% for eggs, 22.5% for milk products, 20% for rolls, 17.4% for seasonal food items, 3.6% for chocolate and cocoa and 3.4% for sugar.
Alcoholic beverage and tobacco prices rose by 5% on average, within which alcoholic beverage prices went up by 6.7%.
Consumers paid 11.1% more for consumer durables, within which 17.8% more for kitchen and other furniture, 17.3% more for living and dining room furniture, 14.7% more for second-hand passenger cars, and 10.6% more for new passenger cars.
The price of household repair and maintenance goods became 25.3%, pet food prices 19.8% and motor fuel prices 12.7% higher.
Service charges were up by 6.3%, within which the repair and maintenance of dwellings cost 19.5% and the repair and maintenance of vehicles 14.6% more for consumers.
Compared to March 2022, consumer prices increased by 1.6% on average. Food became 3.4% more expensive, within which aggregate group price increases were recorded for all product groups apart from the group of nuts and poppy seed: 14.7% for eggs, 9.8% for pork, 8.3% for poultry meat, 6.2% for other meat preparations, 5.9% for cheese, 4.3% for margarine and 3.6% for milk products.
A price increase of 2.7% was measured for clothing and footwear and of 1.7% for consumer durables, within which kitchen and other furniture became 3%, living and dining room furniture 2.4%, new passenger cars 2.2%, and second-hand passenger cars 1.5% more expensive.
The price of household repair and maintenance goods rose by 5%. Consumers paid 0.7% more for services, within which 2.0% more for recreation in the country and 1.9% more for the repair and maintenance of dwellings.
Compared to January-April 2021, consumer prices were up by 8.5% for all households on average and by 8.2% among pensioner households in the first four months of 2022.
