The index is based on responses of the some 400 VOSZ member companies.

According to MTI, among the sub-indices of the VOSZ Barometer, the gauge of propensity to make investments fell to 33% in Q2 from 40% in the same period a year earlier and from 36% in Q1.

The measure of business sentiment inched down to 56% from 57% in the previous quarter.

Businesses said a fall in orders and a longer wait for payments from partners posed risks to profitable operations. They also acknowledged challenges posed by a shortage of labor and lower demand.

Around 71% said they had raised prices to absorb the impact of inflation.

Looking ahead, 58% said the coming quarter would be risky in terms of the overall economy, while 38% expected no change and 7% were positive.
