In quarterly terms, the average gross monthly wage edged up by 0.2% in the review period.
The highest average wage in the first quarter, of BGN 4,578 (EUR 2,341), was registered in the information and communications sector.
The accommodation and food services sector had the lowest gross wage, of BGN 1,098 (EUR 561).
On an annual comparison basis, the average monthly wages in the public sector grew by 16.5%, whereas in the private sector they were 17.5% higher, the NSI said.
