9,082 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 218,099, with 9,082 new cases and 220 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 19,972.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 633,861 up from 624,779 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 395,790.

Currently, 11,805 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,527 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 4,515,464 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 59,018 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 119,681. Pest County is the second most affected, with 88,707 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (36,210 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 55,659.

Until now, 1,903,498 people have been vaccinated, and 685,971 of them have already received the second dose as well.
