823 new COVID-19 cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 77,012, with 823 new cases and 85 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 13,837.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 389,622 up from 388,799 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 298,773.

Currently, 3,979 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 318 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,394,684 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 20,224 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 72,532. Pest County is the second most affected, with 48,833 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (21,970 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 38,685.

Until now, 341,958 people have been vaccinated, and 131,593 of them have already received the second dose as well.
