657 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 110,034, with 657 new cases and 47 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll has increased to 29,427.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 801,025 up from 800,386 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 661,564.

Currently, 1,645 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 195 of whom are on ventilators.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 143,150. Pest County is the second most affected, with 111,021 cases, followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County (45,916 cases).

So far 5,697,748 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 16,209 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

According to the website, a total of 4,898,866 people have been vaccinated until today. The number of those who have received a second dose as well has increased to 2,886,292.

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 69,146.
