International reserves stood at €16.223 billion at the end of last month, up €502 million from the end of 2005 and €1.487 billion more than twelve months earlier.
In dollar terms, international reserves stood at $20.84 billion at the end of August, up $61 million in a month and up $2.237 billion from the end of 2005, preliminary figures show.
