The ministry announced a slightly modified forecast for the annual cashflow deficit, bringing the 2006 general government deficit down Ft 10 billion to Ft 1,759.7 billion or 7.6% of GDP.
The ministry confirmed the August deficit at Ft 134.9 billion, unchanged from the preliminary figure reported on September 1, and down from its own Ft 167.1 billion deficit forecast.
The cashflow-based general government deficit, excluding local councils, was Ft 1,386,9 billion for the first eight months of the year, or 5.96% of projected GDP.
