The gold reserves of the central bank remained unchanged at 103.6 tonnes. However, following the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to EUR 4.881 billion at the end of April.
In a separate statement BNR said the stock of bank loans to the non-government sector increased by 6.6% year-on-year to RON 290.6 billion (EUR 59.3 billion) at the end of March, accelerating from a 5.3% annual growth rate in February.
