The AGRI LNG Project Company plans to select the consultancy to carry out a feasibility study to assess the technical, financial and economic viability of the energy cooperation project called the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania-Hungary Inter-connector, Romania’s Agerpres reported, citing a SNGN Romgaz release on Monday.

“The project is to transport natural gas from the Caspian area across Azerbaijan and Georgia, to liquefy the methane and ship it, at the Black Sea, to Romania and Hungary, and possibly to other European markets,” AGRI Deputy General Manager Lucian Stancu said.

Consultancies must submit bids by January 19, 2012. Results will be made public on February 23, and an agreement will be signed on March 4, 2012, Agerpres reported.

The shareholders of AGRI are State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC), Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) and Romania’s Romgaz.
