As much as 90% of Hungary’s wheat crop this year could be of milling quality if rains are not heavy this week, National Grain Growers Association chief executive Tamás Petőházi said in Tuesday’s issue of business daily Napi Gazdaság.
About 60% of last year’s wheat harvest was of milling quality, Econews reported earlier.
Hungarian farm association MOSz sees Hungary’s wheat harvest edging down to 3.6 million tons in 2011 from 3.76m tons in 2010.
