Spring frost a week ago is expected to cause orchard owners in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County a HUF 18 billion drop in revenue, according to preliminary estimates, Kálmán Wachal, who heads the local farm affairs office, said at a press conference on Thursday.
Fruit growers in the county lost 40-100% of this year’s crop, said Wachal.
The county has about 24,400 hectares of orchards.
