Hungarian farmers harvested 4.13m tons of wheat this year, up 10.3% from 2010, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
Wheat was harvested on 980,000 hectares, a 3% smaller area than a year before, but average yield per hectare jumped 13.5% to 4,210kg.
Although up from 2010, wheat harvest was 6.8% below the average harvest in the years 2006-2010.
Hungary’s barley harvest rose 4.8% to 989,000 tons in 2011.
