Trailers of tractors will be exempt from tax payment, the minister said, adding that the law on local taxes will be amended to the effect that forest properties will be placed in the same category as farmland.

This means that, just as farmland, forest cannot be subject to municipal tax.

Nagy noted that a technical correction was being made on beef. Half and quarter beef already fell under the 5% VAT rate, and this will now be extended to beef carcass meat and offal, which increases the security of sales and mitigates market risks, he said.

Farmers affected by early spring frost and drought damage will receive further assistance.

Producers who have registered for the damage mitigation fund can benefit from a one-year loan repayment moratorium, the minister said.

In another measure, benefiting winemakers, the excise tax on sparkling wine made on a small scale is to be cut by 50%, Nagy said.

Furthermore, in addition to making sparkling wine in bottles, farmers will now also have the opportunity to produce sparkling wine in tanks using their own grapes or wine, Nagy said.
