“We are delighted that Hungary is finally appearing on the map for modern data centre infrastructure. Our team in Budapest is highly qualified and ready to bring our company’s international experience to bear on local projects,” says Máté Kovács, managing director of .bieker kontinental Kft.

“We see great potential for sustainable, future-proof data centre projects in the region. With its central location in continental Europe, Hungary is predestined as a location for digital infrastructure,” he adds.

One of the biggest challenges in planning data centers is choosing a location – in particular, the availability of energy and compliance with European sustainability standards in accordance with the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).

“To ensure the acceptance of such projects, it is crucial to exploit the energy potential of data centers,” explains Kovács.

The Budapest team is currently planning a data centre in Germany that will be powered by renewable energies and feed its waste heat into the local grid.

“This is a classic win-win situation: the operator increases its energy efficiency and the municipality benefits from a sustainable, locally generated heat source,” Kovács continues.

With the growing demand for digital infrastructure in the region, .bieker is further expanding its activities and bringing proven planning expertise to the Hungarian market.
