Waberer’s Holding announced the acquisition, tied to a €12 million capital injection, in April. Chairman-CEO György Wáberer’s indirect stake in the company reached 40.88% after the deal.

The fresh capital will go toward the purchase of 300-400 vehicles this year, adding to Waberer’s Holding existing fleet of 2,300 lorries, Waberer’s said in April. The company will also use the capital injection to expand into other countries in the region, he said. In the mid-term, the company’s ranking among the biggest road haulage companies in Europe is set to rise from sixth to third place.

Waberer’s group had revenue of €331 million last year.

Mid Europa Partners is an independent private equity company that makes €50-200 million investments in companies worth €100 million-1.5 billion in Central and Eastern Europe. The company’s three funds have combined assets of €3.2 billion. It owns Hungarian telco Invitel.

GVH also said on Tuesday that it approved the takeover of companies spun off Waberer’s by W-New Holding.
