Avg Home Price in Hungary Climbs 25%

The average home price in Hungary rose 25% to HUF 38.7 million in 2022, listed real estate broker Duna House said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Per square meter prices averaged HUF 708,000 for flats in brick buildings and HUF 543,000 for homes in pre-fabricated housing estates. They averaged HUF 337,000 per sqm for detached houses. New homes went for HUF 740,000 per square meter on average.
In the capital, per sqm prices were as high as HUF 2 million, while the average home price reached HUF 55 mln.
Around one-fifth of home sales were by investors, 18% were by owners seeking larger accommodations and 17% were sold by heirs. Around 13% were sold by owners looking to downsize.
