Speaking at a press conference, Gul said that Turkey will continue to transform itself and that a discussion about becoming a full member of the EU is not relevant at the current stage of the process, according to a report on the website of the IHT newspaper. „If we start debating that now, we’ll only lose time,” Gul was quoted as saying. „The important thing is to bring about Turkey’s transformation.”
