The unemployment rate in the recession-hit Czech Republic eased by 0.3 points to 7.7% in April, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MolSa) said on Friday, cited by AFP. The number of people registered as unemployed totaled 551,662. The country has a population of 10.5 million. According to economists, the fall in the unemployment mainly reflects a seasonal rise in activity in the sectors of agriculture, construction and services, and does not mean that the overall situation on the labor market is improving. Output by the Czech economy shrank by 1.2% last year. The Finance Ministry has forecast zero growth this year and growth of 1.2% in 2014.
